The Black Priory

Hello! Welcome to the forum for The Black Priory NWN multiplayer campaign. There is a separate Discord for the campaign, joinable on request.

The campaign is the grim and gothic story of a team of professional witch hunters, sent out from the Black Priory to hunt down magical and monstrous evils. The original setting has been designed to create a dark, low magic world in which the witch hunters must hunt their magical or monstrous prey while avoiding falling prey themselves to the plots of powerful individuals and factions.

The first two campaigns in this setting were played during lockdowns in 2020 and 2021. My intention for this longer-term campaign is to create a more slower-paced and open-ended story. I’m hoping to, in collaboration with the right players, spend a couple of hours a week in a world as deep as any classic RPG, fantasy TV show or novel.

There is no need to become an expert on the original setting detailed on this forum. Read up on as much as you’re interested in and no more. Much of the lore is developed collaboratively through playing the campaign. The campaign will be heavy on intrigue and mystery.

It is my intention to run the games on Sunday evenings GMT time, exact hours TBC once I have a list of interested players, for 2 to 2.5 hour sessions. I am looking for 6 players.

It is my intention that this forum will prompt conversations with potential players – let me know what you’re interested in, what you’d be excited to see in this campaign or just generally your thoughts!
